From the Acts of 1971, a milestone in the evolution of Parapsychology, to date, the framework of the World ESP and PSI is strongly changed.
The dissemination of information on the possibilities of the mind and the quality extrasensory has generated different forms of social and cultural interest for this matter, often addressed more about aspects of "faith" or philosophy, or evolutionary practice, or spiritualism, which research scientific.
The imbalance between investment and scientific method than the "culture" of the paranormal is clear: a langue, the other prosperous, as evidenced by the literature, and all the initiatives in the present scenario.
Regurgitates the web of associations and groups devoted to the paranormal, in various ways, believed and being pursued more "philosophical" and at the level of research and testing.
The schools of thought that promise or promote individual growth and development of the ESP (or contact with the beyond) are continuously expanding.
While the scientific approach is still trying to provide evidence on the existence of extrasensory abilities, finding a few followers and media, crossing the hostility of much of the scientific world, the lovers of the paranormal "do it yourself" (or in the wake of "guru ") gather crowds and acclaim.
If the scenario presents a framework for such an articulated and contrasted, it is essential to reflect on the concept of Parapsychology, undermined by the discovery of "mirror neurons" and Quantum Physics on the one hand, and limited by the vulgarization of the phenomena PSI and content experiential other.
The role of parapsychologist itself needs to be redefined, in an increasingly interdisciplinary, given the complexity of the variables that affect extrasensory abilities.
The testing also needs to be reviewed and to support a major restructuring, considering the dilemma of the evidence try ESP and PSI (spontaneous case studies, experiments open) and the difficulty of reproducing the trigger conditions and production according to the scientific method (double-blind, repeatability).
That said, we want to launch the invitation to researchers to contribute to the repositioning of Parapsychology, 360 °, as a focal point for rethinking the AISM feel you have the year that sees the Parapsycological Association in our country (August 2013, Viterbo).
